New Markets and New Wines
The first Summer School will take place in Beaune, Burgundy, from the 5th to the 8th July 2017.
The theme of the Summer School will be 'New Markets and New Wines', and it will explore new geographical markets (including Asia and Eastern Europe), new demographics (Generation Y and their future involvement with wine), the development of new categories of wine (e.g luxury wines) and new wine styles to meet the demands of these new consumers.
The programme is aimed at everyone in the wine industry who wishes to spend time thinking about the future of the worldwide wine industry and discussing these issues with key European wine business executives and leading actors and thinkers in the field.
There will also be trips into Burgundy which will allow Summer School participants to see the world-renowned vineyards and heritage, including visits to a local négociant, and a vigneron. These trips will focus not just on production but on the business challenges faced by different types of producer.
